Adrianna Navarro, and her best friend since law school, both have fourteen years of practicing law behind them when they begin a clandestine business to balance the scales of justice.

It started as a joke, wishful thinking. Back in law school they fantasize about bringing about real justice for their clients. However, in the real world, corruption often perverts justice and the bad actors are free to harm again. It helps to indulge in their imagination when they meet to compare notes after a stressful case. The two women blow off steam and always have a good laugh until the night they run out of jokes.

On that night, sitting poolside at Adrianna’s house with her newborn daughter asleep in her arms, their discussion grows serious. Ideas begin to bubble up with such force that her best friend grabs her laptop and begins to make a list.

The new business plan takes three-months to implement. Both attorneys keep working in their law practices in case their new venture has fatal flaws. To their delight, right away there are clients willing to pay a high sum to even the score. Their brand of “therapy” spreads by word of mouth.

One of Adrianna’s clients works undercover for the FBI in the Walnut Creek field office. This agent hires Adrianna to handle a problem compelling her soon-to-be ex-husband to disclose all his financial holdings. She is so pleased with Adrianna’s swift remedy that the agent recommends her to the FBI. Adrianna is recruited as an independent contractor for very special circumstances.

Trouble erupts when Adrianna attempts to obtain video evidence the FBI needs to put away a powerful investment broker. Her identity is leaked before she testifies. Suddenly, Adrianna and all those living on her luxurious compound, are at risk.

After one suspect manages to break through the safeguards in place on her property, FBI bodyguards move into her pool house. This leads to an unexpected romance that challenges Adrianna’s lifestyle.

Focused on defending her estate from outsiders, she fails to see her deadliest encounter coming from the opposite direction.
